The Silvan S. Tomkins Institute

The Joseph Fox Bookshop has enjoyed a special relationship with The Silvan S. Tomkins Institute and Executive Director Dr. Donald L. Nathanson for over fifteen years. Dedicated to the study of human emotion, the Institute teaches the psychology of affect and the scripts through which we manage it, as well as the systems of personal growth and repair made possible by the work of Tomkins and Nathanson. Tomkins' magnum opus, Affect Imagery Consciousness, was originally published by Springer Publishing Company in four volumes over 30 years ago. We are delighted to see a re-release of this magisterial work in a beautiful two-volume hardcover set, available as a set or individually.
